In 1873,
Apex was officially incorporated. The population of Apex boomed in the late 1990s. Many flocked to the area after Research Triangle Park was established. Currently, Apex is the 18th largest municipality in North Carolina.
In 2015, Time Magazine named Apex #1 Best Place to Live in the US. In 2013, CNN/Money Magazine rated Apex as the number 1 Place to Live in North Carolina. In 2009, Forbes stated Apex was the #3 Best Place to Move To. Apex boasts a variety of green spaces. Get out in nature at Hunter Street Park, Kelly Road Park, or Apex Community Park.
